Looking for Good B2B Publications to Buy -- Online or Off

M&A baby! The pieces of the Anne Holland Ventures Inc team have finally come together including Sean Donahue (formerly of MarketingSherpa, MaineBiz and Business 2.0) leading our editorial and research staff, Cassandra Farrington (former CitiGroup VP) as CFO/COO, Laura Femino (formerly of Membergate) managing tech, and the talented Sam Rosen leading marketing.

So now we're ready to go shopping. Here's what we're looking for:

B2B publications -- online or off -- with quality editorial focused on a specific niche. The niche can be a particular industry or a particular profession. The publication can be a web site, email newsletter or print periodical. We'd also consider a popular book or ebook as long as it has a solid customer or prospect list. The content should feature practical information that helps professionals and/or business owners do a better job and improve their bottom lines. Titles that target entrepreneurs and small businesses in highly-targeted business niches are the best. We're somewhat industry niche agnostic - titles for dentists, restaurateurs, etc are all of interest.

We are NOT interested in:
- 'How to get rich on the Internet' titles
- Personal finance or stock investing titles
- Consumer titles
- Directories or database sites without other substantial editorial
- Generic business news or entrepreneurship titles
- Titles targeting the Fortune 1000 or government agencies
- Custom content (we sell our content directly to the end user)
- Software or SaaS products
- Anything competing with MarketingSherpa

Our business model will be primarily paid content and subscriptions. We don't want to focus on ad sales, AdWords, lead gen sales, etc. We also do not want to provide ongoing consulting services. These are not our sweet spot. However, we would be willing to take a currently ad-supported or free site into the paid content model, or run the paid content arm of a consultancy, if we think the opportunity warrants it.
